Our Core Values:

FAITH:  "Our Faith in the saving grace of God through Christ's life, death and resurrection, is both foundational and central to all that we do in service to our Lord through worship and ministry at MLC. Such Faith is living in and through us, and is the source of our spiritual strength and hope."

"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of God."  Hebrews 12:2

SERVICE:   "We value spirit inspired service to God and to others. God pleasing service is always our loving response to the way Christ served us. As we gladly serve with the spiritual gifts God has given us, we accomplish His work and find fulfillment."

Jesus came to serve: "The Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many."  Matthew 20:28

Our Lord calls us to serve: ". . . what does the Lord your God ask of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul."  Deuteronomy 10:12

We are urged to serve with gladness: "Serve (Worship) the Lord with gladness." Psalms 100:2

LIVE AND WORK BY THE WORD : "The Word of God is the divine source of instruction for living full and purposeful lives in the Lord. Our promise of forgiveness and hope for eternal life, our worship lives, and our means for daily living are based in the Word. As well, our service as people of God and disciples of Jesus Christ derives its power and guidance from the Holy Spirit enlightening us through the Word."

"Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God." Colossians 3:16

GROWTH IN CHRIST: "We value a growing relationship with Christ. We grow in this relationship by studying God's Word, conversing with Him in prayer, worshipping together and living out the faith which we profess. The Spirit works through all of these means to bring about Growth in our relationship with Christ."

The Apostle Paul refers to this value when He writes: ". . . no longer be children tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the cunning of men, by their craftiness in deceitful wiles. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into Him who is the Head, into Christ." Ephesians 4:14 & 15

WE ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST:  "Blessed by his grace to be the children of God, we are also blessed and gifted to be our Lord's hands, feet, and mouth in the world today. As we mutually encourage and spiritually nurture each other, we are strengthen for service within the MLC family, as well as to those we have opportunity to reach out to, with the saving love of Jesus . . ."

"Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it." 1 Corinthians 12:27

SHARING CHRIST / FULFILLING THE GREAT COMMISSION: "We value sharing Christ. We recognize that people cannot believe in Him if they have not heard of Him and seen the impact that He can have on ones' life. By sharing what He has done for each of us through His death and resurrection and being living examples of the impact He has had on our lives, we are responding to the commission He has given us."

"To go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." Mark 16:15
